At this point, Hurts doesn’t owe Bama anything. His record as the starter was 26-2, but Saban decided to go with Tua, and the results speak for themselves. Tua has been outstanding, but it was Hurts who helped the Tide preserve their SEC title hopes and propelled them into yet another national championship game.
Hurts earned his bachelor’s at Alabama last month, and he meets all the requirements for a graduate transfer. There are plenty of Power 5 schools that would welcome him with open arms. A year of being THE QB would only enhance his stock in the 2020 NFL draft. While Hurts conducted himself with great character and dignity after being replaced as the starter, I don’t see him in Tuscaloosa next season.
Pretty much my thinking also. He learned how to be a better QB this year at Bama, it would be best IMHO if he could use and prefect those skills as a 1st stringer for some program.
