What are they missing? Seems obvious to me that a LOT out of the ordinary is going on but it's durn difficult to prove it in ways that are acceptable to those paranoid allergic to a false positive error.
Perception of it speeds up. When I was in around 3rd or 5th grade or so, I remember it took at least one hour for the clock to go what appeared to be 15 minutes.

That is simply not true.
A person as wealthy as Bezos has great difficulty finding worthwhile places to park their money. They do not need to pay other people to use their money.
I am not Bezos' financial confidant. But I do not believe he would use market financing to purchase WAPO.
Of course investment bankers still get their hands greased during the transaction. Fairness opinions, advising both buyer & seller etc. That's the rules of their rigged game.
