“Porto Rico” was what it was called in the US in 19th century and in fact for much of the early 20th century.

From Wikipedia:

The island's name was changed to "Porto Rico" by the United States after the Treaty of Paris of 1898.[41] The anglicized name was used by the U.S. government and private enterprises. The name was changed back to Puerto Rico by a joint resolution in Congress introduced by Félix Córdova Dávila in 1931.[42]
I say just go all the way and rename it Richport.

I have some antique books about the Caribbean that are over a hundred years old.

Back in those days, Puerto Rico was actually spelled that way, i.e., “Porto Rico.”
