Gather all the hippies around, and nuke it from orbit.

Will someone be there announcing that there are tainted prunes in circulation?

I just watched Santana's Woodstock performance of "Soul Sacrifice" last night on youtube and it was/is smokin' hot.

Yes. Carlos was on LSD during that performance and said his guitar looked like a slithering snake.

Santana, The Who, John Fogerty(CCR), Edger Winter( He played in his brother's Johnny Winters Band), Joan Boaz, Arlo Guthrie, John Sabastian, The Grateful Dead( the four still around) Family members- Norah Jones is Ravi Shankers daughter. Blood Sweat and tears, Hot Tuna(ex members of Jefferson Airplane.) The daughter of Sly Stone has a band called Stone. Mountain with Leslie West. He's still around. Garth Hudson and Robbie Robertson from the Band are still alive. Canned Heat is still around, minus a few members. Melanie is still around. Country Joe Mcdonald, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. They could piece together members from all the other bands and have a great jam session.

Nothing new here. Just the hippies not wanting to let go. Since the original festival in 1969 there has been a 10th anniversary show at Madison Square Gardens called Woodstock 79, an impromptu 20th anniversary show at the original site called Woodstock 89, Woodstock 94 for the 25th anniversary at nearby Saugerties NY, Woodstock 99 in Rome NY and a tour called heroes of Woodstock in 2009. So this upcoming upchuck will be let’s see the 7th Woodstock thingy. There is also an annual festival in Poland since 1995 which takes the name and inspiration from it all.

Didn’t they have a re-creation of Woodstock in 1994 to “celebrate “ the 25th anniversary? If I remember correctly, it was a total flop.

[All] We are the old We've got arthritis Our gums are weak

[Richie Havens] So weak

[All] From gingivitis

[John Sebastian] We are the old We've got arthritis

[All] We are the one who wear bifocals And have bursitis

[Spencer Davis] There are people younger But we heed another call

[Richie Havens] We really need the money Our accountants took it all

[Peter Noone] We sing to you Those who have money Once we was cool

[Al "Axl" Bundy] But now we just dress funny

[John Sebastian] We need your help So please, please dig deep

[Richie Havens] Don't call after ten Cuz we'll be asleep

[Robby Krieger] We have medicare And anti-gas pills

[Mark Lindsay] But without your help We can't pay our alimony bills

[Richie Havens] Take it Axl!

[Al "Axl" Bundy] Plays instrumental solo with his sandwich

[All] We are the old

[Peg, Kelly and Bud Bundy] They are the old

[All] We have arthritis

[Peg, Kelly and Bud Bundy] They have arthritis

[All] Once we were gods Now golf excites us

[Bud Bundy] Golf excites them

[All] So write a check

[Richie Havens] A really big one

[All] For our December There's one more verse But we can't remember

[All] La la la laaaa La la la laaaa La la la la la la la la

[Peter Noone] Sing the song, Jimmy!

[All] La la la laaaa

[Peter Noone] Nanana na na

[All] La la la laaaa

[Peter Noone] Nanana na na

[All] La la la la la la la la

[Al "Axl" Bundy] One more time!

Woodstock was meant to turn a profit, but of course the “Music Should Be Free, Man!” crowd took over. Typical Liberals.

Probably won’t make much difference ... they’ll be so doped up, young and old, they won’t know who was or wasn’t there.

That’s the “story” behind the tickets you see in the pic.

They were stored in a trunk on site and ended up getting wet from all the rain. they were saved and were found much later
(early 80’s) and were “passed out” a few at a time. Very few remain from that “collection”.

Unusual way to position the star on that middle ticket.

John Fogerty considered the performance sub-par for them and vetoed its release (he was quite the perfectionist, but maybe also control-freak in the eyes of fellow band members)

I'm sure John Fogerty would be the first to tell you that it was everyone else's fault but his and if only you knew what he had to put up with, you'd understand how wonderful he is and awful everyone else is (particularly, Doug and Stu). Repeat that for three hundred pages and that's his biography that I had the misfortune of buying the other day.
