CBS Los Angeles, reports that a cooler airmass and light winds will stick around into New Years Eve.
On Sunday, temperatures throughout the Southland ranged between 20s and 30s to 40s by 8 a.m., with the days highs into the 60s. Freeze warnings and frost advisories were issued for parts of Southern California but were expected to expire.
Come Tuesday, hundreds of thousands of revelers were expected to line the streets of Pasadena for the Rose Parade.
Despite the cold, bonfires are not permitted along the parade route, and small, professionally manufactured barbecues are permitted so long as they are elevated at least 1 foot off the ground and positioned 25 feet from buildings and other combustibles.

Yea. The side where the cameras are filming from
OK, thx. (For future reference)
It’s 60’s sunny.
Gets cold at night, so it’s still cold in the morning, I guess maybe 50’s during the parade.
Yeah. I’m from CA.
First time I went to Boston I realized what cold is.
Even freezing Mammoth isn’t as cold.
After that I never complained about 110 weather.
Funny thing about the year I spent in England. I assumed I’d be getting a break from the blazing SoCal summer because it’s cooler there, right?
Nope.
The year I went, England wound up experiencing a hotter than average summer that wasn’t much different than back home. In fact, it was worse, because no place had air conditioning.
I even got sunburned!
:)
“I lived in Southern Cal a few times, Orange County and San Diego - they get out the parkas if the temps go below 60 degrees.”
I have lived in So cal, but also in Germany, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado.
A lot has to do with what one is used to, and to proper clothing and shoes, gloves, hats etc.
