Alabama and Clemson will meet in the CFP National Championship for the third time in the last four years -- and the Crimson Tide are once again the favorites.
Alabama has been installed as a six-point favorite over Clemson for in the championship game on Jan. 7 (ESPN, 8 p.m. ET) in Santa Clara, California.
Alabama handled Oklahoma and will face Clemson again for the College Football Playoff championship.
College football's top two programs will once again meet to decide the national championship next Monday after No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Clemson both easily dispatched with their semifinal opponents Saturday.
It is the fourth straight season the Crimson Tide and Tigers will meet in the playoff. Alabama beat Clemson 24-6 in a semifinal last season, and the teams split their two meetings in the title game in 2016 and 2017.
Alabama reached the championship game for a fourth straight year with a 45-34 win over Oklahoma on Saturday in the Orange Bowl. Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban will be looking for a record seventh national championship.
Alabama has been favored in its last 53 games and 126 of its past 127. The Crimson Tide were a consensus 1-point underdog at Georgia in 2015.
Barring dramatic line movement, Clemson will be an underdog for only fifth time in the last three seasons.
The Tigers rolled past Notre Dame 30-3 in the Cotton Bowl on Saturday to advance to their third national championship game in the last four years. The Clemson route was costly for the betting public, which sided heavily with the underdog Fighting Irish. Among several large bets on Notre Dame was a $60,000 money-line wager placed Saturday morning at a William Hill sportsbook.

Arkansas is not a chump? I am not a fan of the SEC but Alabama has been very good for a long time now.
JMHo
The NFL has three divisions —
The NFC, the AFC, and the SEC.
I don't blame them a bit. Their future/career is their bodies....why risk damaging it for free.
I found it distracting and confusing, like trying to watch all three rings at the circus.
Perhaps it would be better on a big screen, but I won’t be getting one until the TV I now have dies.
On a 65” screen it WAS like a three ring
circus. It was pretty intense.
Better still, get rid of playoffs altogether. College football is getting too much like the pros.
Restore the bowl game s to their individual traditions and ceremonies instead of turning them into mere playoff games and let the coaches' poll, the sports writers and computer geeks determine the national champion.
Furthermore, we ought to insist that there be no college football games after New Years Day--or January 2 if New Years falls on a Sunday. And the same should go for other sports. No pro football after Groundhog Day. No basketball after May Day. No baseball after Halloween. And most certainly and emphatically, no ice hockey after the summer solstice.
Wait, the Gators won? How did the Gators get a bowl?
They have sucked as of late..
I switched between the command center and the coaches’ analysis. The command center was really cool...I love seeing the quarterback’s view. I just wish I could have watched it on my 65” instead of my 40” (The women were watching some Christmas movie).
The coaches’ talk was interesting because the coaches were giving some commentary on the players and the game, they were definitely not revealing too many of their thoughts.
Who will they play for the national title?
We're Back!
One team they don’t sit out on,,,, Alabama! Wonder why that is?????
My daughter is a senior at Bama. She said Jalen just applied for grad school at Bama.

Here's what I propose:
1. 11-game regular season, with eight in-conference games, two games against highly-ranked opponents, and one "gimme" game.
2. Eliminate the conference championship game. Conference champion based on overall regular season record.
3. Ranking for #1 to #25 based on updated version of the old BCS system, with rankings starting after the third Saturday in October.
4. At end of 11-game regular season, new ranking system will have our #1 to #8 teams.
5. #1 plays #8, #2 plays #7, #3 plays #6 and #4 plays #5, with the higher-ranked team hosting the game in early December.
6. Winners of these games are re-ranked with new system to play on two New Year's Day bowl games. #1 plays #4 and #2 plays #3.
7. Winners play championship game 7-8 days afterward.

I don’t bet the games, probably because I live in Georgia, and there’s no easy forum to bet them, but
ANYONE BETTING ON NOTRE DAME IS A TOTAL DUMB@SS. GEORGIA WAS BY FAR A MUCH BETTER TEAM.
Me too. I got into the third quarter, and went to bed. I’ll watch the game today that I missed, but I don’t think Oklahoma was ever really in the game AFTER their coach went for first down conversion on 4th down IN THE FIRWST QUARTER.
Maybe it was before then, when they one the coin toss and elected to kick off to BAMA.
BAMA takes you out of your game BEFORE YOUR GAME! Georgia did the same thing in their confewrence championship game with them when they went for a fake punt with 4th and 11 late in the game against them with the score tied.
Love BAMA.
They didnt show it in Baton Rouge......I was there
Alabama is incredible
Saban is amazing but he needs Valium
Okie QB showed major heart being chased around the whole game and making shite happen all by his lonesome to be honest
Deserves his medal but hes a baseball player honestly
Clemson QB is interesting....I am good at picking QBs early
I picked Mahomes first few games he had at Tech.....he will be a top tier historical QB like Unitas and Snake and Bradshaw and Brady and Favre etc....no doubt
I actually like Jalen Hurts...
Clemson rocket running back could give Tide issues but it is Tide defense
We beat all the sports media beloved Yankee teams like we usually do since the 50s.....the Irish God love em....great uniforms but so much hype
I just hope my Tigers crush UCF and end that fantasy
Good thing those boys were armed btw......
Its Bama this year......no question....they are the Borg
Again
My wife was happy btw....she adores....Jeudy
Her best friend who died last year unexpectedly was a Bama insider and VIP who went to all the games and did meet and greets etc via UPS brass
