Most snakes have dens where they gather to ride out the winter, usually underground. In spring theyll scatter to the four winds.

I remember, fifty years ago, looking in a book about the Old west and seeing an engraving of the time showing a sheriff’s posse surrounding a bandit cabin in New Mexico.
When the outlaws failed to come out with their hands up, the posse went in, and found all the outlaws dead in a pile surrounded by rattlesnakes.
I’ve never seen that illustration since. Wish I could find it.

No big deal.Wait until the temperature dips into the lower 50s or better yet 40s. Scoop them out with a grain scoop and haul them off in a 55 gal barrel. They can’t move.

I have been in Texas since 1975 and I spend time camping and on trails. I have only seen one live rat snake and three dead rattlesnakes.
And two of the rattlesnakes were seen squished on the side of the road.
Jus sayin.

A friendly reminder to all libs and moderates thinking of moving to Texas:
This is just the good part.
We also have wild boars, tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and MEAN drivers who are fully armed and dangerous.
Just to name a few cautions.
Choose wisely.
Try Massachusetts or DC instead
