The Hubble Ultra-Deep Field image shows some of the most remote galaxies visible with present technology,
each consisting of billions of stars. [everything except the objects with "spikes" (stars in our own galaxy) is a galaxy]

“In their article, the scientists propose a new model with dark energy and our universe riding on an expanding bubble in an extra dimension. The whole universe is accommodated on the edge of this expanding bubble.”
So maybe the Earth really is flat.

As a kid, I tried to grasp the concepts of infinity and the universe...with little success. Now that I know that the universe is expanding, I don't feel any better. My question remains: "Expanding into what?"
I need a nap...

""Turtles all the way down" is an expression of the problem of infinite regress. The saying alludes to the mythological idea of a World Turtle that supports the earth on its back. It suggests that this turtle rests on the back of an even larger turtle, which itself is part of a column of increasingly large turtles that continues indefinitely (i.e., "turtles all the way down")."

There is one model that fits our understanding of the Universe very well.
That theory is.... The Universe is Infinite.

Stars or just clusters of atom of something bigger than us? I mean what surrounds atoms, dark matter?

If dark nrg and dark matter permeate our universe ...is it also a part of the matter that makes up our brains? If so...could those internal “dark” forces affect our thinking and reasoning? How could one trust their own cogitations if this is true?

“in an additional dimension”
That should be good for a few billion for a new particle accelerator.

one that may solve the enigma of dark energy. The solution.... It is not just 'gravity' that holds galaxies together. It is Electro-magnetic force that keeps galaxies together and that determines the form of galaxies, and indeed the entire Universe.

The Universe is simply expanding. It is not expanding into anything at all.
