Burrous was found unresponsive at a Days Inn in Glendale after a male he was with called authorities around 1:15 p.m. to report he had passed out and was possibly not breathing, Glendale Police Sgt. Dan Suttles said in a news briefing.
Paramedics who responded to the hotel, at 450 Pioneer Drive, located Burrous inside a room suffering from a medical emergency. The person he was with, who Suttles said appears to be a friend, was already administering aid when they arrived, the sergeant said.
First responders also administered CPR before transporting Burrous to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, officials said.
When the companion originally called police, he indicated Burrous had possibly overdosed, Suttles said.
What we know at this point is that the call came in as a medical emergency, and thats how it was handled, he said.
There was no indication of suicide, he added.

Too much blow?
Probably not. Drug dealer would likely have departed and let him be found by the maid later.
From the story, it sounds like someone emotionally involved enough to call 911 and try CPR. More likely an established male friend.
Hmm, 1pm Hotel room, Companion(?), overdose. The big question who is the “Companion” and relationship to Chris. Were they closet Coke heads or something else?
weve watched KTLA morning news in our break room several years
and especially enjoyed Chris great personality on his Saturday morning shows.
this is a shock.
Wasn’t an avid watcher of KTLA 5(Too far left and for LA standards that says a lot) but on Christmas Day I was flipping through the channels and happened to see this guy anchoring the morning news..something was odd about him, I even said to myself “He’s high on something” and I didnt even know who he was..so how could his fellow anchors have missed it I saw it and didnt even know the guy..The news this morning all say he was “Found Unresponsive” yeah like Whitney Houston was found unresponsive..its a shame, drugs kill another person my guess Fentynol and the “Friend” with him was probably his dealer..he leaves behind a 9 year old daughter, I feel horrible for her, to lose her Dad like this
RIP to Chris Burrous.
I admit to not knowing him, but last night I was watching clips. Looks like a more real, less plastic, anchor with a great sense of humor. Lively. And frankly, with speech that didnt not sound gay. If you had told me he was gay it would not have been hard to believe.
I saw clips with his wife and they looked great together, looked like an intelligent, real connection. He was clearly crazy about his little girl.
The only sad thing I can conclude is that his passion for men or maybe just a man was too big for him to avoid forever, and he made the choice to be married on the DL with guys or a guy. Very very clear this man he was with cared for him deeply, did EVERYTHING to try and save his life. No hookup or dealer would stick around and do mouth to mouth.
If his addiction was to opiates, it could be another fentanyl death. So heartbreaking to everyone; you can see how beloved he was to his viewers, and prayers to the family who may have had THREE reeling heartbreaks at once. His death. His affair with the guy/maybe his sexuality. And his drug taking.
Oh my, so sad.
But you dont get rooms with another man to go on binges, or if you did, and you died, the other druggie would disappear real fast. Even if he called 911, he sure wouldnt deliver mouth to mouth on you.
As a local celeb, he might easily have a wing man to line up drugs and hookers, so I wouldn’t bet on a gay angle without more info.
100%
I know. I know nothing about the man. Im sad that whatever his demons were, it took him from his beloved daughter.
