Widespread 911 outage in Washington State

Just got an emergency alert on my cell phone with this message.
I use Sprint and live near Tacoma/Puyallup.
What gives?

Same here in Tri-Cities. Must be the Centurylink outage. Why do they wait until 11:30 to send the emergency-mode text with the beeps?

Got rid of those guys when they were still Qwest and I cut my land line.
I’m with Comcast for internet/VOIP and Sprint for cellular.
They can both be sucky but in their individual ways.

Pretty weird though. I had no idea that the 911 system so wide spread as one single entity.
My guess is that the Internet outages are related to it.
A guess.
