Hallmark’s famed Christmas movies have been known for revisiting the same stable of stars — which until recently, hasn’t left much room for faces that aren’t white. But this season, the brand has made an effort for diversity. It’s no longer a whitewashed Christmas on Hallmark, though it still has a way to go for a truly inclusive winter wonderland.

Today: Last Man Standing.
I had the man fairly young to begin with, maybe about 30 years old. So not a "dirty old man takes advantage of a young girl" story. But I probably ought to get her to 18 before any serious sparks fly.
Wife was spoiled and used to higher standard of living so went back to her wealthy parents and filed for divorce taking the baby with her. Husband a decent guy but not very ambitious and the wife wanted more. Once she leaves, the man gets depressed, spiraling downward, on verge of losing his job and drinking too much. He's a mess and so is his house. Then this "runaway" teen enters the scene and eventually gets this guy's life back on track after he takes her in and allows her to get her life in order. This is a very intelligent and strong woman with good Christian values who was simply fleeing a bad situation at home. So the guy saving himself by saving her becomes the main theme here. Maybe I'll build in a subplot where the guy goes into business for himself and his venture really takes off making him wealthy. All of this of course, making the ex-wife who dumped him for being a loser sorry she left him in the first place. Maybe I'll find a way to get the kid back to him as well.
Anyway, I think it's the basis of a pretty good story. I'm sure this type of story has been done before but if I am able to finish it, I'll make sure it has some unique twists.
No nation has to be “diverse” except white-majority - to make them white-minority so they can be abused.
Yes:
1. They are homoerotic, not gay or homosexual.
2. It is perverted lust, not condign love.

Lately I've seen ads for their movies where the hero and heroine are black. This is a new thing for them. Hallmark has gotten criticism for lack of diversity and mockingly called "White Entertainment Television," and I doubt they're earning any brownie points from blacks. Their efforts will never be enough until all the good characters are black and all the villains white.
I never saw "Hill Street Blues" or "Last Man Standing," so I can't judge.
One of the surprises of MTV was an animated series titled "Daria," a spinoff from "Beavis and Butthead," that featured some of the best writing I've run across. That was decades ago. What made "Daria" special was that even though she was a cartoon character, she had the kind of genuine concerns that trouble all of us. Tracy Grandstaff, who is now a TV executive and was never a professional actress, had a deadpan delivery of Daria's lines that was so real it touched your heart. I was saddened when the series ended, but it's best to go out when you're at your best.
I’d think a little more about the son aspect. Just me talking, I think reconciliation of a father son divide has appeal and it deals effectively with the age gap issue.

The PBS Kids channel (”Peg + Cat”) skipped over “Don we now our gay apparel” during “Deck the Halls.”

half the time its a successful city businessman trying to secretly close down the sky lodge and falls in love with the girl in the bakery and SAVES the lodge....
There is a BET network, let them paint a black face on a happy subject. Ask Opie and themagicnegro why they can’t fund the Mutha. They could have the Hollywood....roflmao...mogul Tyler Perry make it, it would get 4 stars from all reviewers, and no one would pay to see it.
If we saw that same movie with the Episcopal priest, and if I remember correctly, the priest’s black partner who was carrying a baby, was introduced as his “WIFE.”
We agreed to shut it down immediately and deleted all Lifetime content. And if Hallmark, which we enjoy, introduces such characters, we shall delete Hallmark also.
Zero tolerance here and I don’t apologize.
I know that going to Netflix, Hulu, Disney, or any other company or independent producer, in time, will have the same content.
It’s just a matter of time.
Oh, I forgot. The partner was male.
Most viewers of Hallmark will not even notice, like the frog in the pot.
Jame Garner of Maverick fame said Hallmark was the gold standard of TV, then again he was a rabid Clinton supporter from Oklahoma.
The new meme is to cast ethnically ambivalent actor in staring roles.

Yep, they ruined Boy Scouts, JC Penny, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Target, Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer, Charlie Brown, etc. time to ruin Hallmark’s beloved Christmas movies.
I don’t care if Hallmark makes Christmas movies with black heroine’s and black cast, I just don’t want to watch them.
I started watching one of what I thought was a traditional Hallmark’s 2018 Christmas movie until the heroine’s mother-in-law’s gay son made an appearance - time for channel check.
Too bad, they can’t yet force me watch; however, you can ruin it for me so I don’t want to watch anymore.
You can find almost all past Hallmark Christmas movies on Youtube. Just have to do a search on “Hallmark Christmas Movies”, or by title.
