WELLINGTON, Fla. - A shooting was reported Monday outside the Mall at Wellington Green in Palm Beach County as the complex was crowded with shoppers buying last-minute Christmas gifts, authorities said.
A spokesperson for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department said a gunman shot at deputies and wounded a police dog, which later died at a veterinarian emergency center.
Deputies said they waited until three individuals left the mall to make arrests, with two being taken into custody.
The third individual took off running and shot the police dog before deputies returned fire and wounded him, deputies said.

The Cat Union protests this as unfair.
They’d lose in court.
Unless the perp is a mouse or small bird they’re worthless.
Suspend the cops without pay.
Until they have 100 hours of range time at their own expense, and re-pass all firearms qualifications tests.
The “brothers” doing some late Christmas shopping and killing?
Wait, Andrew Gillum and Sharpton to the rescue. NOT!
Of course the Palm Beach deputies did not want to go in after the bad guy. Would ruin their record of non service.
ae there any police cats anywhere?
.
We have a “Police Cat!”
(Black except for his white belly and chest)
I have one beside me right now. She would also die or kill for me or any of her extended family. She loves her family, everyone else, nope. she is a very civil, tough dog
I have heard of attack cats.
They're since updated the story. He was wanted for first-degree attempted murder for shooting a man during a previous robbery.
Nice guy.
we have a saying here in Hawaii :

I hear you. Malinois are amazing pups, other-worldly.
When my rottie was getting trained, her trainer a former policeman and still trained K9s. He had a few Malinois at his ranch and they were crazy brilliant, and so dignified.
My rott? Brilliant and sensitive, but a total goofball clown. She and the Malinois were comic gold. They were all serious — until she’d come around. But those dogs were magnificent and all business (until my goofball would break their resistance down.)
