FakeBook is like the Hotel California. You can check out any time you want but you can never leave.
Thanks for this!
I never went near it.
We need one of the (many) talented folks out there to write new lyrics to “Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover” a la “Fifty Ways to Leave the Facedorks”.
I take that back, I did go on the Free Republic Fecebook page when FR was down and I was jonesing for FR.
FB is for sharing German Shepherds pics and funny stories. Period.
When you leave facebook, prepare for a very depressing reality...
... No one will ever talk to you again.
People don’t call, they don’t pick up when you call and they don’t ever think about you again. I had talked to friends - even local ones - for years on Facebook everyday. We shared fun ideas, had chuckles and even helped each other out in real life. We had coffee, lunch and got together frequently.
But people use Facebook not as an idea sharing platform, it’s a communications device and the only one they consider.
I left 120 FB friends 3 years ago and I don’t hear from a single one. Even really, really good friends (In real life as well)
Hmm, so you have to go to a third company and give them your info and they’ll take down your fb? No thanks.
Never been on FartBarf, Twittie or Instacrap.
You are being tracked even when you are not on Facebook. They are affiliated with other sites. Amazon recently patented software they will use with their Ring camera and Rekognition facial software. The cameras will scan everyone and report to the police. It is not perfect so expect the police to raid your home or arrest you at work.
Also you would could be banned from posting at sites as you are tied in to other sites say like Brietbart so they know you are a troublemaker in their opinion.
Try getting a loan, go to school, get a job when your “record” is available from Facebook and Amazon etc.
Maybe even a plane ticket as you are a “suspect”.
I have a twitter account, but only use it to read what President Trump posts.
I trashed my ‘so called’ FB account after I answered a letter to the editor of a local online newspaper and laid out the idiot I was addressing.
Not that I really care BUT next day I checked out my FB page and there was my answer...Did not appreciate that so I cancelled whole program.
Went back at a later date and logged in with NO INFO and used a @yahoo.com address which I have cancelled ... BUT... If I go to FB now that old address shows up but I can ‘check out what I want’ and leave with (probably) no or very little footprint.
I probably have about ‘500’ or so ‘prospective friends’ or whatever they call themselves so I guess the name of the game for social status today is to be able to brag about how many ‘friends’ one has on FB or twit or twat or whatever it is called.
MeWe is an alternative to Facebook. No ads, no user tracking, easier interface. No censors. Occasional nudity in some certain groups.
Ive been there for a few days and it seems to be okay. Theres a few interesting groups.

Yep. And that’s about all I do. But I am simply amazed at the edgy and conversational stuff my friends post (political stuff, gun stuff, etc.). Any of that can get you in trouble with your employer.
And I suppose it could get you in trouble with the Feds, too.
Side note to my cousin Jimbo: You really don’t need to tell the world how many high-capacity magazines you have.
Ugh! I meant “edgy and controversial stuff”.
I actually have it blocked in my Hosts file.
I quit facebook over 1 week ago.
I quit because I got another ban for doing what liberals do to me...and they are dont’ get banned. Like if someone calls me an idiot...i’ll do the same back. And then wammo I’m banned and they aren’t.
The hard part is FB is how many of my extended friends (people I knew over my lifetime keep in touch with me). Oh well I guess. I’m trying to get reddit to fill the void of getting interesting and funny info (in other words time wasting). But it is still a struggle.
Also some services allow for easy logon when you logon via facebook...that’s a challenge too.
