Navy veteran Sailor Jerri rewrote the lyrics to the song "Hallelujah" then sings them.

Know someone it might help.
Very, very good.
Just a REMF, it moved me.
Thank you. Love that.
“Hallelujah” is not a song. It is a choral refrain in Handel’s oratorio “Messiah”.
Link up at the top says Youtube, but it’s driving traffic to Facebook. Boo. Hiss.
So did he cut out the words “For the lord God omnipotent reigneth”?
In this case, “Hallelujah” refers to a folk song, written by Leonard Cohen and featured in the movie “Shrek.”

So post 8
I like this one much better--Cohen's opus is a downer, but this is much more uplifting--and it was a much bigger hit:
Hallelujah--Harry Raderman's Dance Orchestra
When we are down is when we need him the most and should raise our voices in praise the loudest.
... and my favorite version is Cohen in concert 2009 London.
The song has a very strong hymn-like quality strengthened by the strong instrumental background and back up vocals.
IMO, it will be hard to surpass this one.

The pictures are as good as her song. Very nice.
Words to Cohen’s Hallelujah rewritten for Christmas...Christmas Hallelujah by Cloverton.
Bump for later ...
Personally, I like the “downer” version. Not every song has to be happy.
Thank you, very well done.

I dare anyone with any sort of a heart to watch this and not cry.
"Praise the Lord! Praise, o servants of the Lord, praise the Lord!"--Psalm 113:1
Sing "Hallelujah! Hallelujah!"
And you'll shoo the blues away.
When cares pursue you,
"Hallelujah!" gets you through the darkest day.
Now there's Satan lying awaitin'
And he's creatin' skies of gray.
But "Hallelujah! Hallelujah!"
Helps to shoo those clouds away.
Hallelujah--Nat Shilkret & the Victor Orchestra (with Franklyn Baur)
Nat Shilkret, who led the house orchesdtra at Victor, and tenor Franklyn Baur were two of the heavyweights in the record business.
