The CR now goes to the Senate where it faces an uncertain future. The House and Senate are now out of alignment, having approved different versions of the same government spending plan. The Senate will need 60 yeas to overcome a filibuster. That would require Democratic help
I am glad to see this, I have spend the last 6 weeks reading the pleas for help from Paradise, Concow and the other towns the firestorm took. There are older folks living in their cars with no heat, families whose FEMA money has run out and ask for money for another night in a motel. They need food and gas cards so badly. 50,000 have been displaced and it is cold and sometimes wet up there. Strangers have been answering the need on their own in the best tradition of the American people. I saw a call for pallets yesterday to get those in tents off the ground. Very tough situation.
