18 MOST MORTIFYING MEDIA MOMENTS OF 2018

‘This was the year when reporters ... began loosening the usual boundaries governing journalism’
By Tom Elliott

"In the second year of the Trump Administration, the media went all in.

This was the year when reporters, in the race to claim a scalp, began loosening the usual boundaries governing journalism.

Whatever Trump was for, the media came out against. When Trump nominated Brett Kavanaugh to become the next justice on the Supreme Court, the media went to war, digging through every trace of his existence, even combing through notes he sent in high school — anything that might turn up the silver bullet that sank his nomination. "

Moar at the link.

Trump giving remarks now on FARM BILL and will be signing it shortly.
“We love our Farmers”
Media is hoping he will give remarks on other items.

Talking about National / Border Security.

I will not surrender to the interests of those who prey on the vulnerable - referring to Coyotes.

They spread misery. Human Trafficking must be stopped
Praises the Border Control/ military/ etc.
We don’t use the word “wall” - We use “Steel Slats”

He makes the case for the Border Wall. He reminds us that it is not only his own promise, but also that of every law maker made. It is the solemn promise I made to protect and defend the United States of America. It is our sacred obligation. We have no choice.

DC abandoned this obligation for decades over the objections of the people. It was a total assault on our democracy itself.

TRUMP REMARKS CONT

No one voted for this policy or ratified it or endorsed it. Total assault.

He lists the costs of illegal immigration.

Money
Lives
Heroin deaths

He spoke with Xi of China about fentanyl - kills 80,000 people in our country. Xi will make that a major crime in China. Death penalty now in China. Had not been against the law prior.

Every day 2000 TRY to get in

Talks about human smuggling

ICE crime totals

Dems oppose Border Security no matter what these costs in $ and lives are.

I am asking Congress to defend the border of our nation. [Something about] fraction of the cost.

Walls Work.... whether we like it or not. Mentions Israel’s wall success. 99% +

Talks about needed resources for ICE and Border enforcement.

Progressives should not support illegal immigration.
Open Borders hurt poor Americans than anyone else in society. In life there are certain Principles worth fighting for.

The safety, security, and sovereignty of the US is the most important of all. If we don’t stand strong for our national borders then we cease to be a nation.

I look forward to signing a bill that fulfills our fundamental duty to the American People. It is all about - and I say this in any way they want to hear it - it is all about “America First.” We have to put our country, our people, and safety first.

So thank you for that. We’ll be working on that; Mitch and Paul and Kevin and everybody, and we’ll see what we can do. Hopefully it will all come together.

Now to the Farm Bill.....

TRUMP REMARKS CONT

FARM BILL

He speaks of proudly being joined by Republicans and Democrats who worked hard on the bill.

Bi-partisan success. He hopes we may be doing more bi-partisan work - would be good for country

Thanks the dems who did work very hard on the bill. He thanks Mike [Pence?] for working hard on it. Thanks other legislators and dignitaries present. Sec Ag Purdue.

Fox Biz moves away from the remarks to begin their commentary.

Analysts saying that the “Steel Slats” could be a possible out/softening.... but others not agreeing to that idea.
