Sorry, I am not really on board with the bash Mattis crowd. It seems to me that he acquitted himself well with respect to military engagements-I felt that he was respectful to everyone.
I particularly liked when he said we don’t do stunts, and outlined the positives of military’s border support. I also liked the incident with 100% casualty of Russian Mercenaries.
Regarding other issues, even if I don’t see eye to eye, I just am not going to ridicule a man who has served his country for so long.
I think Wictor has an excellent article on this resignation - the General accomplished his mission.
The statement “Because you have the right to have a Secretary of Defense whose views are better aligned with yours on these and other subjects, I believe it is right for me to step down from my position,” is receiving a lot of commentary.
Wictor proposes that the General’s statement is a bit of Military Disinformation.

The contract was awarded on December 20, 2018 to SLSCO Ltd. using CBP’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 appropriations. The total contract value, including options, is approximately $287 million. Construction for the San Diego secondary is anticipated to begin in February 2019 and construction for the primary pedestrian replacement wall is anticipated to begin in July 2019.
