Hopefully there will be no bubonic plague to throw a monkey wrench into things! (Historians now believe that the plague at the time of Justinian was the bubonic plague! See the book “Justinian’s Flea”)
Note: That plague event wrecked both the Roman & the Persian Empires (Sassanid). So severely weakening both empires that when Islam burst out of Arabia it punched an empty bag.
