By reading the article I don’t know if this is a real problem with the child or parent. Or a school district run a muck. We just don’t know. But they did get us to read the article. Click bate.

My neighbors youngest daughter was a sickly child in kindergarten. She had doctors notes for all but two absences and was under the level of absences that they call "truant".
She was also under six years of age and legally she could not be truant.
The school wrote a letter to her parents threatening them with jail time and the loss of custody of all three of their children.
They sent the "School Resource Officer" (a deputy sheriff) out to harass them during the summer when school was out.
Based on that they decided not to enroll her in first grade in that school system and send her to a private school.
The SRO went and had a warrant sworn out against them saying their daughter was truant. They then sent in the CPS who demanded that they produce their daughter as she was considered a "child in danger".
They met with the CPS at their daughter's new school, went to court and was told the case against them was dismissed.
A year later she was stopped for a traffic ticket and was told there was a warrant out on her. They got a lawyer, the CPS once again was demanding they produce their daughter for a "wellness check".
It finally stopped when they got a lawyer that promised to sue the school system and the sheriff's department if they did not go away and quit harassing this family.
The public school systems are out of control and should be shut down.
Mother needs to be arrested for educational neglect. She sounds like her kid missing major parts of school courses is perfectly OK. Why can’t her son get a school bus to take him to school, if getting there is a problem? She is probably a disheveled piece of trash.
Government schools are evil.

A 14 year old cannot drive, as far as I know.
God gave him 2 legs. He can get to school on those.
