No other math teacher, or geometry teacher mentioned this to me either. I took a later 2nd degree in drafting and design. So heavy on geometry.
My electrical design instructor had a theology degree tho and often brought God's design into classroom discussion. I think my experiences in this regard also reflect that I've lived and worked more than 2/3 my life within a 30 minute drive from Waco, TX/Baylor University. Waco is whacko, true. But that Bible belt buckle still hangs on in many of the "regular folks."
And I guess it rubbed off on me. I taught drafting and design for four years at a college technical school up near the Red River. I did interject my faith and politics into my classroom teaching. Young maleable minds need truth. I was also never discouraged from sharing such truths during those 4 years. Never had a complaint from students, parents, other faculty or college officials.
Strangely (snark) my program and the computer maintenance program were cut from the college for being obsolete after our retiring dean was replaced with a liberal education wiz. That head of the computer maintenance program was also a vocal Christian. Who'd have thought it "happened" to be the two openly Christian instructors whose programs would be obsolete. Drafing and Design and Computer Maintenance in 2005. Laughable if it weren't the future of our education system.
SNEAKY liberal whack a Christian.
