Rights do not come without responsibility. The property owner was grossly irresponsible. So I don’t have a problem with this order.
Insofar as law being law, and the owner having bought knowing what he was getting into, rebuild exactly.
Then build an encompassing larger home around it, just to piss off the zoning board legally, and to make an interesting building.
What purpose does it serve to rebuild the home exactly as was, doesn’t it defeat the whole purpose of the home being done by a certain designer or architect??? Seems pretty stupid to me, give the guy an enormous fine and send him on his way the history of the building CAN NOT be brought back!!!
I agree. If you buy a property you need to be aware of covenants, codes and historical significance. If you really want to see historical NAZIs vist Charleston’s Historical district. Want to paint your house you put three colors on the house and the members of the historical board chose the color. If they don’t like any of the colors try three more.
