(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either satire or opinion. Or both.)

Clint Eastwood uttered one of my favorite lines to her in Bronco Billy. He was telling her about his first wife and he said he caught her in bed with his best friend. It went something like this:
Locke: What did you do?
Eastwood: I shot her
Locke: You shot her? Why did you shoot her?
Eastwood: Well, I couldn’t shoot him. He was my best friend

She was a great Mick Kelly in “Th Heart is a Lonely Hunter”. She got an Oscar nomination for her first film.

"Loved her in "Sudden Impact""
Locke: "You need a lift?"
Young man: "Sure!"
Locke: "Then stick a jack up your a$$!"
I always thought Sondra was cute.
And she could really act, too.
Her role in The Gauntlet was priceless.

,
She changed her named to Sondra in her early 20s and won a nationwide talent search in 1967 for the part of teenager Mick Kelly in the movie adaptation of Carson McCullers novel The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter. Locke starred opposite Alan Arkin, who was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar.
That was the one and only year I went to all 5 best actor movies. Don't aske me why. In any case, Arkin turned in a masterful performance as John Singer, a deaf mute, and I thought he was a shoe-in for best actor. But nope, Cliff Robertson won for "Charly", a mentally challenged adult subjected to medical experiments. Arkin did the superior job.

RIP, Sondra Locke. Loved her in the Clint Eastwood movies.
She was first diagnosed with cancer in 1990, so she lived a long time afterward.

May she rest in peace.
I used to love her movies with Clint. She was cute and sexy.
Ahh, the good old days of Hollywood when there was nothing perverted or political in the movies. Just good entertainment.

Wasn’t she the package Eastwood was supposed to deliver to the Feds so she could testify in the movie “The Gauntlet”? I watched that years ago, and really enjoyed it.

She was cool. I had a bit part in Every Which Way But Loose. She sang a song with a band, and then the band I was in played behind Charlie Rich as he did “I’ll Wake You Up When I Get Home.” She was rather shy for a 34 year old starlet. Clint was friendly and fun.
