“Jack Parsons, John Whiteside “Jack” Parsons (born Marvel Whiteside Parsons October 2, 1914 – June 17, 1952”

I came to the same information, undoubtedly for the same reason, while checking upon the death of a biographer of Robert Heinlein, William Patterson. Patterson wrote a two-part biography, and died the day the second part was published, April 22, 2014.

Interesting how much the paths of space, UFOs, and the occult cross.

:^) One of the striking things about alien abduction is how it resembles fairy abduction in much older literature ("True Thomas" from the 13th c being the example that comes to mind; first ran across that in "The Worm Ourobouros" by E R Eddison).
