I agree. File might be assigned to someone, someone maintains secrecy, contact not aware case being worked, can’t locate, requests again. Or, they want it to look like its not being worked.

The inquisitors seemed to be very interested in confirming the status of the case.

There is one plausible explanation for this. These investigators stated that they were basically relying on public information. And information they obtained through the freedom of information act. Huber on the other hand would have access to all information. So this information may be basically worthless to Huber because he already has it, and a whole lot more.
