Interesting trivia: “Charlie” is a holdover slang from the Korean/Vietnam era meaning “Chinese”.

I have know idea who Ian Anderson was speaking of here but, I know who cross-eyed Mary was....

Yes - “Charlie is in the wire”!

A quote from a movie, but I don’t remember which one. One of those war movies though. It meant that NVA or Chinese had breached the outer perimeter defenses.

"Charlie" in Vietnam was from "Victor Charlie" - VC in radio lingo.
