Air conditioning use will reduce the range, just as it reduces the range of the gasoline vehicle. Then the car display tips off the driver, and shows the new range and the supercharging station in that range.

Good point, but heating a gasoline vehicle adds not cost as it uses waste engine heat.
Also, range is more critical in an electric vehicle since it takes hours to refill.
I’d love to have an electric vehicle but would also have to have a gas powered one for longer trips. Therefore an electric car is out of the picture for now.
