I had never till recently heard of flour being a problem. Maybe it became a problem due to sloppy kitchen habits, getting stuff in the flour bag or canister that shouldn’t be there. I never understood hooking all the spoons and measures together on a ring, as neat as it looks. I keep mine separate.

When I was a kid I split my chin open at Christmas time. Mom called the doc and she was baking cookies but her boys were eating the dough as fast as she could make it.

I can’t believe I’ve lived this long.

I’ve eaten raw cookie dough for over 60 years.
Drink from the water hose
Eat sandwiches in my unrefrigerated lunch in the summer
Go barefoot much of the summer
Take walks in the rain
etc.

I’m starting to feel like my Dad when he said he had seen enough change for one lifetime.

Ellerin warned that “complications of this type of E. coli can include bloody diarrhea, need for prolonged hospitalization, and kidney failure, breakdown of red blood cells that carry oxygen.”

The sky's falling, the sky's falling! For the past five thousand years...

If I ever get my damned book published, it will explain how & why people are more susceptible than ever to e-coli and other organisms. It will also explain why most people won’t do anything about it or, for that matter, care about consequences they don’t suffer at the time.

It’s not rocket science, and it serves one purpose that they’re taking advantage of fully.

Oh, but gluten-free, paleo, vegan, low cholesterol & exercise are panacea to health. /s

The latest life expectancy stats say otherwise...

Are they also going to prohibit letting kids lick the beaters because of one kid who wouldn't wait for it to stop?

Parent explaining to children as to why to avoid eating raw flour:

“Do you think the [*]s who make that uncooked flour wash their hands after going to the bathroom?”

Unabated cell phone use in cookie dough factories and other food processing centers is a problem.
The germs are not what they use to be or where they use to be.

What’s up with the rhyming slogans? WTF! Have studies shown that if your slogan features (nursery) rhyming it’ll be more effective? You know, the “1, 2, 3, 4...Climate Change is at the door!” and “2, 4, 6, 8...Watch us as we masturbate!”.

People have been gnoshing raw cookie dough for decades, and suddenly it’s a health threat on a par with Ebola.

Yeah.

Sorry, sin't gunna happen.

A few years back I cam home and my wife and daughter were in the process of making "cookies". I noticed that the oven was not on and asked if they wanted me to turn it on. The said,"No, its OK. We have spoons." ;o)

Do you know anyone who has actually gotten sick from eating cookie dough? Maybe I need to clarify the question. Does anyone know anyone who has ever gotten food poisoning from eating cookie dough?

My guess is that my wide and daughter would say the risk is worth it.
