Today Jaguar cars are made at the JLR factory in Castle Bromwich in Birmingham.

So, they still use Lucas electrics?

An electric car using Lucas is going to be a new punchline.

As an owner of a MGB in a previous lifetime, I remember Lucas VERY well...

In August 1996, Lucas merged with the American Varity Corporation to form LucasVarity plc.

After LucasVarity was sold to TRW the Lucas brand name was licensed for its brand equity to Elta Lighting for aftermarket auto parts in the United Kingdom. The Lucas trademark is currently owned by ZF Friedrichshafen, which retained the Elta arrangement.

So is it even the same old company that the owner, Joe Lucas often referred to as the Prince of Darkness, had created? 8>)
