SS1:
Yes, it is true because ALL Amateur radio license holders use their real names as shown on their license unless they choose to go by their nickname like Jim for James or Bob for Robert. etc.
“C.B.” attitudes, language and “handles”(fake names) have no place in the Amateur ranks.

Also a thought to ponder. They could always use their code words and phrases in the open using voice and/or digital comms (think text msgs.) over the air on a seldom used frequency and no one would be the wiser even if overheard.

Thank you so much for the explanation on the distinction between ham and CB conventions.... and on the possible use of code words/messages
By the way, Miss Texokie, happened to be listening to Glenn Beck this morning and he said there was a story every day last week about artificial intelligence that should have been earth shattering but was largely played down. The one they were talking about was a camera like thing that you can point at an animal, that will predict what the animal is going to do next, which way it will move, by reading its brain. Creepy.
Tex, they can also use their radios to send “packets”, which would be like emailing a picture...the packet (picture) contains data that is downloaded and listened to off-line. Is your mind blown yet? LOL!
