Tucker Carlson says Trump is ‘not capable’ and hasn’t kept his promises

Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson set straight any misinformation concerning his views on President Trump: “I don’t think he’s capable,” he said during an interview on Tuesday.

Urs Gehriger, an editor at “Die Weltwoche,” the country’s leading German-language opinion weekly, noted that Carlson’s new book, “Ship of Fools,” is silent on Trump but comments on his critics. And so, Gehriger jump-started the conversation by asking what Carlson thought of Trump’s first two years in office.

Carlson said he cannot stand Trump’s self-aggrandizement and boasting. Then, when asked whether Trump has kept his promises, the usually quick-witted and long-winded Carlson had just one word: “No.”

Show us how it's done, Tucker.

Its frustrating. Almost every congressman ran on essentially Trump’s platform, and when it came time to actually deliver, they punted.

We’ve watched as Ryan and McConnell slow-walked and played rope-a-dope on him throughout the last two years.

After Planned Parenthood was exposed selling body parts, Repubs acted shocked, shocked, and then proceeded to fund it anyway. After all of them running on campaign promises to end Obamacare, they almost all of them punted. After knowing full well the GOP rank-and-file demanded serious border control, and after themselves campaigning on exactly that, they punted. Almost nothing has changed on any of those issues. What little has changed, has changed only thanks to Trump’s executive orders.

Tucker blames Trump because GOP has refused to implement, not Trump’s agenda, but their own stated agenda, based on their campaign promises.

Its tough when both parties are arrayed against you. At least the DNC is openly against him. GOP pretends to back him while moving in slow-motion.

We have to realize that the Presidency is 1 of about 8 or 9 co-equal branches of government in the USA.

When the permanent bureaucracy and deep-state backs you up, as they did Obama, almost anything is possible. Wars, incredibly foolish welfare schemes, social-engineering, and law-breaking all are possible.

When those other, unrevealed branches of government don’t support you, it takes incredible time and effort to get things done.

To expect the swamp drained and promised kept in 2 years is unreasonable. POTUS has kept more promises in 2 years than any other President has in 8 years. He said on the campaign trail he would need the 8 years.

Tucker may have been misquoted but if not he has been leaned on by the network. Now he’s just another pretty uniparty/leftist face.

No wall, nearly all illegals get to stay, government not shut down to solve. On those points, yes, talk and no action.

No surprise. His own party and admin have fought against him every for inch on the issue.

Yes - but the president should let the media point out to the masses what a wonderful job he has done, then he’s not bragging. /s

You are SO wrong, I hardly know where to begin!

Trump is NOT what YOU want him to be; yet you imagine that other presidents, throughout our history were more "genteel"? Boy do YOU ever need an in depth remedial history lesson...ASAP!

Stop being a pathetic snowflake and "ELITIST"!

And psssssssssssssssssssssssssssssst....just because other presidents used a different vocabulary, which appears to blind those, today, who have lousy ones, doesn't mean that they didn't use and abuse the media available to them O( Thomas Jefferson not only wrote scabrous crap under his own name, but used various noms de guerre, but also paid others to write or put their names to newspaper articles, flyers, and to spread rumors, in person...i.e. whispering campaigns! And he was NOT the ONLY one to do this, just the FIRST one!

Well, it IS wapo. I’d have to wait to hear if Tucker agrees with them quoting him accurately. Although Carlson has said some negative things about Trump, some of which I agree with, he doesn’t usually say them in the disparaging, mocking tone that these quotes do. We’ll see. I generally agree with most things Tucker says on his show, so, I don’t know.

Not really!

Tucker is a wimpy wuss, whom his faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar lefty "guests" roll over every single night, as he just sits there drooling and nodding.

That President Trump has not achieved some of his campaign promises does not mean he has broken those promises. He has been stymied by the implacable opposition of the Democrats and GOP obstructionists. I have not heard him say he has abandoned his campaign-stated goals.

Exactly. It is not personal. It is business.

Trump has kept most to all of his promises that are within his control. Tucker’s point is that he doesn’t know how to deal effectively with the swamp politicians to get the big permanent things he wants that they are reluctant to give him. For example he doesn’t know how to twist their arms like Johnson, Obama or some others did to get their way. Sending tweets and making public statements certainly haven’t moved the politicians much. They only gave in on the tax uts because their business donors BENEFITTED, much more than individuals.

Carlson isn’t a liar. He certainly is not considered ignorant by anyone. He may say things you don’t like or agree with. So do we all.

As for gop turnout, the conservatives rightly didn’t want to reward a do nothing, not trump supporting congress led by dirtbags like Paul Ryan. They were not going to reward those clowns for their foot dragging. At the same time the anti trump forces were at an all time high energy caused by constant anti trump publicity.

I knew the bow-tie would disappoint in a big way eventually. The other side of the coin is that anyone who wastes hours per day planted in front of Fox News needs to critically assess the value they put on their own time.
