It was either a steady or down night for most of the Tuesday primetime shows this week.
Without New Amsterdam or This is Us, NBC still won the night, but was noticeably down from a week ago. The Voice kicked things off with a 1.4 rating in adults 18-49, a tenth less than what it had scored last Tuesday. It was followed by a 2-hour Saturday Night Live Christmas special, which posted a 1.0 with 4.10 million viewers, down two-tenths from last years SNL special.
After taking last week off, NCIS (1.2), FBI (1.0), and NCIS: New Orleans (0.8) all returned even with their previous episodes. FOXs The Gifted (0.7) and Lethal Weapon (0.7) both held steady week-to-week as well.
It was a down night for ABC, however, as The Conners (1.3), The Kids Are Alright (0.8), Black-ish (0.8), Splitting Up Together (0.6), and The Rookie (0.7) each fell a tenth. The CWs The Flash was the only show of the night to tick up, rising from its previous 0.6 to a 0.7, while Black Lightning maintained a 0.3.
Science fiction writer Larry Niven wrote an article some years ago, about the practical problems of Superman having a sexual relationship with an Earth woman, called “Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex”.

I posted this three weeks ago:
My family likes to watch the TV show Supergirl. We just watched last week's episode on the DVR.The show should be called Supergirl SJW. This season's opening monologue is "I'm a refugee from the planet Krypton..."
This past week, the season's Bad Guy is shown giving an extreme alien xenophobic video under the label "The People's Veritas."
Does anybody think it's a coincidence that the writers of this show chose the word "Veritas" to tie to an extremist wacko character?
Subliminal messaging? Psyops? Just like labeling misbehaving Democrats as Republicans?

Rookie is a guilty pleasure for me. I generally hate cop shows.
What?
No, we just have a standard box in the living room. My wife had discovered the same thing, that the show was “there” but you actually had to do a search to find it. Kind of stupid. There are some things I liked after the last update, like where it would break out what you had recorded into different categories, and how much of them you had watched.
The remote is really aggravating now. I have to hit the FF button several times before it even does anything while watching a program, and then sometimes, when it “catches up” it actually fast-forwards to the end of the show or movie. And then I have to start over again from the beginning.
Sometimes our other room’s “receivers” just stop working, or the audio in the main room gets this very weird, robot-like sound to the voices. Then I have to reset the boxes. This happens sometimes two or three times a week.
I am beginning to wonder if all of these systems are quirky in one way or another.
The remote FF and Rewind functions are weird. On my remote, you have a choice of a regular fast forward or what I call the "blip forward" in which it is supposed to jump a full minute forward. However, on the "blip", it does not jump to the next point; it gets there, but you have to watch it go by (fast) the whole time. If I hit the blip button 3 times in succession, it will go 3 minutes ahead.
If you look on your screen, you will see little breaks in the timeline of the recorded movie or show. If you hit the regular FF key immediately followed by the blip key, it will jump to the next one of those line breaks. Keep hitting the blip key, and it will keep jumping to the next break. Works the same way in reverse. That is how you're probably getting all the way to the end without intending to do so.
If it weren’t for Nathan Fillion, I wouldn’t watch it at all. As a rule I like cop shows.
I liked Nathan in Firefly.
That's exactly what I thought........Thanks for the link........LOL!
Believe it or not, approx. 20 years ago myself and my bowling team discussed this very subject in the bar one night and they laughed at me when I suggested it. So who’s laughing now?
Shows how badly ABC is doing.
Ya. Still a little weird and they did bring up global warming. Can’t win em all.
I think the networks do keep track of streaming viewership but the advertisers only care about live ratings.
It’s called The Kids are Alright. It has Michael Cudlitz from Band of Brothers and Walking Dead. He plays the father of 8 boys. Both the father and mother are a hoot!
But not castle?
the total number watching network “prime-time” garbage has sunk to incredible lows, for example only 4 million total watching ABC, and only 1 million in the supposedly coveted 18-49 demo ...
It’s all garbage.
I forgot about Castle.
It was a good series too.
The what?
Thanks! I did not know that!
