We want special recruiting tracks at YOUR schools for urban kids. But for OUR schools? Yes, just a single score that fairly compares ALL students, so classroom order is maintained, and no kids come to school with guns and 'fro picks.
Original Dec. 4th New York Post title - Angry Parents Lash Out at DOE Official Over Diversification Plan.
Where’s the HA - HA kid cartoon?
Liberals just hate people.
These should be the first schools for liberal social experiments. Maybe bus these kids to other schools in the area to desegregate them and give everyone equal opportunity to be beat up, raped, and killed.
This is really more of a misrepresentation than reality...
Placing students into schools they are not academically able to perform in is a disservice to everyone....
Forcing a school for high achievers to accept those who are academically unable to do the work is a recipe for disaster for everyone involved.
Do you have the link to the news source? I’m just seeing twitter.com
Same thing for any future refugee centers. You want ‘em, you got ‘em.
Anytime you can force libs to face their hypocracy you do it. They’re all in favor of these programs, let them live with their values. I don’t give a damn about their kids.
But it does serve a nice leveling function - and isn’t that the intent of socialism?
I'll tell you exactly what will happen if this goes through. The black and Hispanic students who could not pass the entrance exam but who were put into these elite schools anyway will NOT be able to keep up with the work from Day 1. They will not understand half of what the teacher is saying. Their notetaking skills (already seriously deficient due to Commie Core dumbing down of academic skills) are virtually non-existent. They don't know what to do with themselves during a class if they can't take out their cell phone to text, watch movies during class, or use the phone to do mischief on others. They will squirm in their seats out of boredom. They will ask for the hall pass and then disappear for the rest of the class. They will meet up with fellow forced-entry students and wander the halls, causing trouble. These elite schools are so serious about academics, there are SIGNS in the halls warning people in the halls not to talk, because learning is going on. Can you imagine the disruption to the other kids trying to learn while these frustrated students wander the halls? If they're not in the halls, they will disrupt the class to amuse themselves and mask the fact that they can't keep up.
No one will be able to learn, but the libtards will insist that it was the right thing to put the deficient students into those schools. PC garbage will have been upheld, while the actual purpose of the elite schools will have been destroyed, and such schools will never exist again.
I've been there as an educator and seen exactly this go on with libtard programs to have "more minority students in honor classes" in regular schools.
Not the least bit surprised. We all know about events in Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, Little Rock, etc., but few remember the violent opposition to busing in Boston, Hartford and other areas in the Northeast.
I just wanted to point out that this isn’t about Manhattan schools. This is actually about the few “elite” schools that haven’t been touched yet by this nonsense and still use testing for admissions. Basically, Bronx HS of Science, Stuyvesant, La Guardia (in midtown, not near the airport), Brooklyn Tech, and a few others that use the SHSAT test.
This isn’t about what snooty Manhattan parents want for their kids. It’s more about “everyone should be entitled to a, say, Stuyvesant education experience, even if that experience will suddenly become a thing of the past.”
These schools likely don’t even have any remedial classes for incoming ninth-graders, except possibly for English Language Learners, who may be a little behind, and special needs students, which every school has some population of.
Any student arriving without knowing the basics of, say, Pre-Algebra, will be failing Algebra from the second week onward, and flunking out by the end of the first semester.
These a-holes have declared war on people like me. As I said earlier, I don’t care whether their kids’ education is ruined or not. In fact, I hope it is.
Hurting people who don't go along with the "system" is no big deal to commies.
It's part of their modus operandi.
And to think, busing kids across town was all the rage back in 1962, IN THE SOUTH ONLY!
When it started in the North, talk about fireworks! Looks like it bit them in the butt.

I remember it. Hehehe.
a recipe for disaster for everyone involved.
