Bad PR. Did they think this would persuade potential customers?

Good viral marketing. They probably ticked off the ‘influencers’, but they’ll more than make up for it in viral marketing. “Say what you want about me, just spell my name correctly” was the old rule of thumb.

Great PR. Consumers learned that the Payless product is just as nice as ritzy brand names. And they also learned that none of their friends can tell one from brand from another.

And it was all in good fun. And also this generation loves seeing people get punked. They’ll love this commercial.

Broke them out of that downscale box they were put in.

Dunno, but they sure did show how gullible and stupid the "influencers" are.

I had a great laugh watching them getting punked.
