At this particular moment? Working to get the big tree up and strung with lights in the living room. I got the 6' up and decorated in the breakfast nook, the porch lights up, mantle garland hung, and I'm down to my last project for the season. Assuming the missus got off the sofa and straightened the branches for me. I'm going to the SS office this week and filing for permanent disability, seeing one of my docs, and I'm doing all the decorating this year. I bet I had a total of a thousand twinkle lights left over from last year, including some still in boxes, and only about 70 of them worked. What a waste. I made a trip to Dollar General and just bought what I needed.

It seems you do way too much in general. Maybe it’s time to slow down.

Dagnabbit! 20 lights short at the top! Now I gotta get creative and rearrange them. All I got left is white lights, or Halloween candy corn lights (I string those in the fall harvest mantle garland). She actually
did 'straighten' some limbs and a few lights, but the tree looked like a Bourbon Street drunk leaning on a lamppost. LOL 🤣
That's what my doc says."You're in the AARP demographic now. Quit acting like you're 25 or you'll be here every three months, not six." Everybody says, "You don't look that old!" Call me Dorian Gray. Somewhere there's a portrait of me in an attic that looks as old as Moses. Preserved in amber on the outside, and a biological mudslide on the inside. I lost my balance and slipped again two weeks ago trying to adjust one of my Muk Luk slipper booties, and landed on my tailbone again. My arm hit the old manual meat grinder's crank handle on the counter, and it left a black bruise from my upper forearm almost to my armpit. It's still there, albeit faded. That's what bad blood does to you. A day or so later, my tuckus was hurting so bad, I mooned Connie and asked her' "Do I have a bruise on my tailbone?" She said, "Yep. One on either side of Rattlesnake Canyon." 😂 Still hurts to get up and sit. We got Chinese after church this morning, and I had half the restaurant looking at me when I was trying to get up from the table.Somewhere in Heaven, Jerry Lewis was probably cursing me for ripping off his act.

lol, I love it. You have got to write something.
Still, I think you need to take it easier.

I'll slow down when I'm in a box, looking up at the grass. But, I'm filing for disability. I lost my job a few weeks back (actually, there's been an ongoing bloodletting at that company from the CEO-down because they misled shareholders and have a class action suit against them now), so I figure it's time to go to the counter and cash in my chips. I can't sit for protracted periods, or the edema in my left leg builds up, blisters form, they drain once the compressions socks come off, and I'm a high-risk patient for more infections. For some reason, being sedentary like that causes me to get nosebleeds that won't stop for 10 minutes or so due to my platelet count. I can't take antibiotics because they wreck my gut and I have to stay within about a fifteen foot walk to a bathroom, so that's out. The leg infections did something to me and all those heavy courses of antibiotics killed the probiotic bacteria in my gut, and now I've developed a hypersensitivity to them now. (My doc actually wanted me to go on a maintenance dose of something just in case, and I said absolutely not. If I get another infection, we'll deal with it then.) I can stand for a few minutes at a time, and can walk about 100 feet or so before needing a rest, but I'll never find a job that's so ADA complaint that it'll let me function in my condition. I have three separate, well-defined (According to Social Security) disabilities that qualify me for permanent disability, they'll never improve, and I've been trying to work as well as live with them. Not anymore. I wouldn't qualify as a greeter at Walmart. I can get around, but at my own speed, in my own way.
And to think, just ten or so years ago, we worked out religiously three or four days a week. We'd hike a mile on the mezzanine track, I'd do two miles on an inclined treadmill, work muscle groups on different days, and were generally bullet-proof. I'd like to find the person who said, 'What doesn't kill you just makes you stronger', and kick them in the cojones. If I can lift my leg that high. 😂 Ah, well. We're going to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra again this year performing their The Lost Christmas Eve album and other goodies at the BJCC Legacy Arena in Birmingham next Sunday. Floor seats, buddy. I got pre-sale, pick-o-the-litter access to those babies through the band. And they usually pack in about 10K attendees per show. We'll be sitting so close, we'll be able to smell what cologne the backup singers are wearing. 👍

I’m sorry you’re doing so badly, Viking. That’s rotten.
That will be an excellent show, though. Wish I could see them. I love their version of “Christmas Canon Rock.”

I wish I could have seen them, too. Last night, the temp was dropping so low, I went out on the porch to see if it was freezing up out there. It was dark, the porch lights were off, and I was using the Christmas lights to see. I guess I misjudged how close I was to the edge, and when I turned around, I lost my balance and fell three feet onto my back. It took me a couple of minutes to pull myself up from a pile of leaves and mud, while getting rained on. Hard. My wife had to strip my muddy clothes off and help me into the shower. There was no way I could have made the show tonight. I am as stiff as a board, hurting from neck to tailbone, and the show probably ended about 10 minutes ago. I've got two prime floor seat tickets that cost me $200, sitting in an unopened UPS pack on my bookshelf. I am so disgusted and sick about it.
