Put them both in the playoff. Alabama is in. But Georgia should be in as well. Yes, with two losses. Yes, as a non-conference champion. Yes, despite the résumés of Oklahoma and Ohio State. Georgia is good enough to overcome all that. The howls of outrage will echo across the Midwest, the Southwest and everywhere else where fans hate the thought of the Southeastern Conference gobbling up half the playoff for the second straight year. The political pressure against it would be immense and lets face it, college athletic administrators are political animals. The College Football Playoff selection committee would be shutting out 60 percent of the Power Five from the four-team playoff, which would cause enough backlash that it could actually alter the sport.

All I know is Jim Harbaugh is still looking for his arse.
“So, Bama fans, answer me this: Had they lost, should they, the #1 consensus team be eliminated from the playoffs ?”
1.Clemson
2. ND
3. Georgia
4. Bama.
Works out: Everyone moves up in an orderly fashion, and BAma and GA wouldn’t play each other in the semi.
The conference is the SEC, they have one champion.
Very strange what happened to MI.
Just goes to show every weekend anything can happen.
B1G Ten Fan here ... Conferences and conference championships rule.
Yawl have fun working this out. B1G10 and Pac12 will each send their conference champions to the Rose Bowl as we have done for decades until recently, and as we should contract to do every year going forward. B1G10 should invite in Miami, BC, GA Tech, and FL. Pac12 should invite in Baylor, Tx, A&M and Houston.
Then yawl have your thing and we have ours. We will then dominate 45 of the top 50 markets. Good luck with a business model that includes only the remaining 5. By the way, this arrangement covers all sports. Yawl inherit the NCAA — it can be all yours, and your 4-team playoff, and the brand and that big $2.3B SEC-ESPN contract.
I’m looking forward ... I’ll concede in argument anything you want about this year or any year prior. I’ll just have one question — why would University presidents in either of these conferences sign up for this going forward?
It’s not fair to Alabama... why should they Georgia get a rematch?
If Georgia had been undefeated when they played Bama yesterday, then a case could be made to include them. But they lost to LSU by 20 points and are now a two loss team. The best team doesn't always win on a given day and there is a price to be paid. Neither Georgia nor Ohio state should be in the playoffs due to their decisive losses earlier in the year, and Georgia missed its chance to make up for their 20 point loss by losing to Bama.
They probably are one of the best four teams, but they should also pay the price for not living up to it against LSU, and then losing to Bama.
Oklahoma or UCF should get the fourth spot. And frankly, I'd like to see UCF get the nod since they are undefeated over two seasons. They deserve a shot to prove whether or not they belong with the major powers. Oklahoma lost to a 9-4 team and had some close calls in a few of those no defense, Big 12-2 shoot-outs.
Blame conference greed. If wasn't for a conference playoff, they'd be in.
Oh, they got their asses kicked by LSU, a team with three losses. That isn't Notre Dame's fault.
Well that’s why we play the game and I will take Clemson over everyone in the country that’s not SEC.
SEC is tough fast no holes bar smash mouth football. I don’t say this but it has been said football in the south is a religion.
I know of Little old Sunday school ladies arguing over GT and Georgia highly pissed at each other, in Bugar King (they are white respected ladies) and they were lifetime friends.
It’s just fun times for us. I was highly pissed at Chenneys offense play callings yesterday, I want him gone should have kicked him off the bus and left him in Atlanta. He cost Dawgs that game both years.
Won't the Buckeyes go to the Rose Bowl as the Big 10+4 champion? I think the Big 10+4 and Pac 12 tie-in with the Rose Bowl still exists and the RB is not being used for one of the playoff games this year.
In the past the RB tie-in to two conferences prevented many match-ups that should have taken place, but didn't.
You are preaching the gospel.
Get the human rankings out of it.
**** You mean computers that’s what really screwed it up.
Not really. The more teams in a playoff, they more teams that will be able make a case they should have been included.
Take a look a the rankings as of today and all the 10-2 and 9-3 teams that would have to be considered in a field of 8. I count at least eleven or twelve teams that could make a case for the second four spots.
Well done.
The conference is the SEC, they have one champion.
**** You are wrong dude East and West. Trophys for both, we got 12 teams others came because they wanted that SEC money to make them equal. This game was originally for us to stop arguing, not going to happen. What if the SEC championship wasn’t played. now what
Your tone is authoritative. The content? Sooners will pick you apart. Alabama can score 50 points and still lose!
Alabama can score 50 points and still lose!
==
You’re 50% correct, they will score 50 points.
“Well thats why we play the game and I will take Clemson over everyone in the country thats not SEC.”
I hope they play ND in the semi, that makes sense to me and will settle the argument!
“I know of Little old Sunday school ladies arguing over GT and Georgia highly pissed at each other, in Burgar King (they are white respected ladies) and they were lifetime friends.”
Lol!
“Its just fun times for us. I was highly pissed at Chenneys offense play callings yesterday, I want him gone should have kicked him off the bus and left him in Atlanta. He cost Dawgs that game both years.”
I wouldn’t be too tough on him. No one is going to beat Alabama. Doesn’t matter what he did. And if GA was kept in the playoffs, they’d lose to AL again.
AL is just too fast.
It was not a historical game, OK lost
No. 13 Tigers throttle No. 2 Bulldogs to make statement in SEC
LSU dominated in every facet of the game on Saturday in Baton Rouge
“Oklahoma or UCF should get the fourth spot. And frankly, I’d like to see UCF get the nod since they are undefeated over two seasons.”
That’s a tough one. UCF didn’t play any good teams, but if you’re undefeated and DON’T make the playoffs...well there’s something wrong there.
