I know! Pluto didn’t even get a victory lap! 200-year orbit, its own orbital plane, orbiting satellites...not a planet. Tiny Mercury races around the sun...planet.
In one of his podcasts, he talks about how surprised the astrophysicist/astronomer community was over the reaction to the demotion of Pluto. They did not expect the public to notice. What they did not take into consideration is that people love the planets and the stargazers took one away.

Yeah I agree. Accusations should not be enough to ruin a reputation. I think it fair to say Tyson is full of balony when he talks of climate change, religion, and politics. But I do not think its fair to make anything of these charges til they can be clarified and verified.
They demoted Pluto because they had found two more planets, after decades of denying their existence. ENORMOUS embarrassment. So they kept the existence of these planets from the public, demoted Pluto to “dwarf planet,” and then announced the existence of the two “dwarf planets.”
Ironically, Pluto wasn’t even IN Snow White.
I just saw a report of a study that revealed how young women in this country are more likely to lie than any other study group. However, I don’t know whether it means that they’ll lie about anything and everything or who knows what.
I think the entire me too thing is a fraud. No criminal charges, nothing happened. Period. So, when a POS like Tyson or Weinstein is accused, its a good thing. When a Kavanaugh is accused, its a bad thing. Nothing more than that.

This guy is just your average liberal opinion shaper. Anotger victim of the ideology he pushes. To me, an astrophysicist is the equivalent of a philosopher in what they produce for mankind and contribute to society.
It’s all fancy opinion backed by sketchy data, most of which can never be proven either way. Lots of artist renderings are used to take some math calculations and paint them into a picture to maintain public interest and funding.

I dunno... the accusations are pretty damning.
Apparently, he was accused of rape by one woman, and it was NOT a hindrance to his career. But now there are more women talking on the record, with specifics. And one of the more cases has photographs; we can’t see the harassment in a photo, but it certainly supports her description of what happened.
This all does NOT PROVE beyond reasonable doubt that he committed a CRIME. But it does mean that several people who had mutually agreed to work with him are now corroborating each other that he’s a creep.
Where did he get his astrophysicist education? I tried the first episode of the Cosmos and couldn’t watch another. What a smarmy, self-important man.
So the right thing to do would be to announce to the public that they found two more planets, not demote Pluto. Whatever the stargazers say, we still love her! And we’ll always consider her a planet.
I never understood why Goofy could talk and Pluto couldn’t.
He was hired for his politics and race. He was a novelty that the liberals chose to be a science spokesperson because of his color. Fortunate for him, but the rest of us has to suffer through his liberal crappola.
