I have bought from NewEgg many times and get their alerts via email. They have a v good Lenovo 17” laptop going for $500. better than anything on Amazon. It is eighth gen i3 or i5. I will look it up for anyone who is curious for Christmas.
Thanks, I need to upgrade my laptop, again. 12.5GB free out of 210GB doesn’t leave a lot of room for updates/caches.
Memorial Drive, Cambridge. Used to be a Stop & Shop ages ago.
Conveniently located between Harvard, MIT, & Boston University.

“You may be able to find an 8TB Seagate external for around $130.”
Amazing. $157 at Amazon. These colossal hard drives are called archival. They spin at 5400RPM which is correct in my book. Gives the HD a longer life.

It’s the law........................
I once paid $400 for a 40 MEG HDD....................Computer Shopper Mail order!...............
Tech Ping!....................
Uh oh. Now the “I remember paying $10,000 for a one-kbit memory chip” stories start up again!
Trader Joes which is across from it? Right? I strolled into that Micro Center on visits to that area and i did not even own a computer. But I was entranced by the pre-year-2000 displays of computer related stuff of all kinds.
50/50 on Seagate drives over the years.
I stick with Western Digital.
Audio and video gear porn.
I buy once in a while.
Computer Shopper was the bomb. A 500 page bomb back in the so called day. What joy it was to read though it multiple times and the adverts were the best part. (Obviously)
I would read each issue cover to cover, looking for the best deals........and the articles were great!...................
I have a 256GB in my laptop, 5 yrs old. Can I image or clone it and replace with the 500GB? Or will the sectors be off, or beeber stuned?
Fyi 256GB SSD is c drive with W7 OS and user stuff. D drive is seperate 1tB spin disc. Want a bigger OS SSD.
Upgraded a 2010 iMac a few years ago with a Samsung SSD for about $180. Speed improvement over the old spinning HD was amazing.
