Aquaman will be released to the public in the coming weeks, but the film has already garnered positive reviews from impressed critics.
The superhero film follows the story of Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Jason Momoa), who, as a half-human half-Atlantean, reluctantly assumes the underwater kingdom throne of Atlantis.
Following the movie's world premiere at Leicester Square's Cineworld in London on Monday, critics took to Twitter to describe the film as the 'most ambitious DC movie to date', and praised the leading actor's 'great' performance.

Mamoa was great in GoT
Lamest superhero ever. He can swim! He can talk to fish! He yells underwater and saves fish from bad people.
Wonder Woman showed that when DC Suits get out of their own way, they can make a good movie....
DC has some of the best source material to work from, yet they always want to eff it up when they go to make a movie from it.
Raj Koothrappali: “I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, Aquaman sucks!”

Stunt casting is generally not a good sign...
Just as some people think that George Reeves will always be the best Superman and Adam West will always be Batman, no one will ever eclipse Vinny Chase as Aquaman.
New album from Jethro Tull?
Most ambitious? It’s a comic book movie. The safest bet in Hollywood right now.
Safest? Maybe, maybe not. There’s an interesting marketing campaign going on with Amazon. Prime members are being offered an opportunity to buy a limited number of tickets for showings a week ahead of the official opening. Don’t recall hearing this done before.
If they had that scene in the movie, then it would be ambitious.
I haven't gone to a movie in years. I haven't seen any superhero movies.
With CGI, I can imagine underwater sequences could look spectacular.
And I'm sure his superpowers will be expanded.
I just saw Justice League this weekend.
Other than Wonder Woman (for obvious reasons), Aquaman was the best character in it.
I am so looking forward to this movie, but why do I have that sinking feeling that there’s going to be a leftist “progressive” theme of “save the oceans” or “global warming/cooling/etc.” bullsh*t weaved into the plot??
Waterworld 2: Aqua Boogaloo
Never was an Aquaman fan back in the day, let alone 50 years later.
I wish John Byrne would draw all comics at least once.
