Chris Matthews Surprisingly Sane on Illegal Immigration: 'Got to Be Enforcement'

Once in a while, Chris Matthews deviates from the extreme liberalism that has captured the left, exemplified by the abolish-ICE talk so in vogue among liberals.

On Monday evening's Hardball, Matthews took a surprisingly firm stance on immigration, actually siding more with Adolfo Franco of the RNC than with Neera Tanden, head of the Soros-funded Center for American Progress.

Noting that there are "two-thirds of a billion" people living in poverty in South America who would like to emigrate to the United States, Matthews acknowledged that "at some point, there's going to have to be enforcement."

This reminds me of an incident 15 years ago where 20 or 30 Mexicans were standing out in the street flagging cars down to hire them for work. This would happen every day until 1:00 or 2:00 pm. I was trying to get to a repair job and had to steer around the mob to get by and almost plowed into an on coming car. I had enough and drove to the sheriffs station and said I want to file a complaint and want these idiots off the street, and why aren't the sheriffs doing something about this.

The sheriff was a big white guy and said " These people aren't hurting anyone so just leave them alone."

So I said " I really don't care about that but they are obstructing traffic on top of working illegally."

He says " There is nothing we can do."

I said " So if these were 20 or 30 white high school kids doing this, there is nothing you can do?"

He just looked at me with a stupid look.

That is when I realized our country could be lost and I told him that.

Chrissy is a rabid fanatic but can see how stupid most of their arguments are...just posturing as one of the “saner ones”....
