How was Thanksgiving?
Hi, Vision! How’s it going? Did you go to W’burg for Thanksgiving?
We had lunch at our friend Liz’s house and then just hung out at home with a fire in our back yard fire bowl thingy. :-) It was nice. Besides the traditional Thanksgiving lunch at Liz’s, we had steaks on the grill for our Thanksgiving dinner.
Chester was dragged!
Oh, bad! We didn’t hear it, but I was interested in the title of the episode.
Evening-er, morning, folks. We did two Thanksgiving dinners in 48 hours this weekend. Did one Thursday evening out at my brother-in-law’s ranch, and there were fifty people there. (And I was the only adult male not open-carrying. Shame on me.) The other was with the kids and grand-kids here at the lodge, and that wore us into the ground. Spent all morning Saturday cooking, and it took the balance of Saturday evening just to get leftovers and dishes cleaned and packed away. When you give three 5-and-unders and two ‘tweens the run of 2300+ square feet and they all know where the bodies are buried, it’s bedlam. Add in several bottles of wine, and we were under a blanket somewhere since about 10 Saturday night. Just drained. (I feel kinda bad because I told her brother - the church deacon - we’d be there yesterday morning. I didn’t get up to use the privy until after 12.) I have to unload the dishwasher and put a sink of pre-rinses in this morning, finish the trash, vacuum more as I go, take down all the fall harvest decorations, start putting up trees, lights, and garlands, and generally preform a post-apocalyptic rebuild. I think she’s off today, too because I haven’t heard her so much as snore this morning.
What a BIG time you had, Viking! I’m sure there was plenty of excellent food. :-D
Anyway, glad you had fun and are recovering. I expect you're tired of turkey.
