Uh oh! And so the stampede to warmer southern comfort begins. Everyone, head for the northern part of South America and the middle of Africa! It’s the only way that you’ll survive.
I think that is a misinterpretation: I believe that more correctly, that should read: "At the bottom of this ice age period in 200 years’ time, the average temperature on Earth will be 2C lower than the average of our present interglacial period."
The last "mini ice age, the "Little Ice Age", dropped global temperatures by less than 1 deg. C.* The last major period of glaciation dropped global temps at its worst around 9 deg C, to approximately 7 deg. C. That was enough to nearly wipe out humans. A drop to 2 deg. C would be incredible, likely resulting in a many millions of years long "Slushball Earth" similar to some interpretations of the Cryogenian Period.
*The cooling of The Little Ice Age" was very spotty, both with time and location, and with lesser and even spottier effects in the Southern Hemisphere. This makes the average a little misleading: Some regions of the Northern Hemisphere cooled, at least for short periods, several degrees -- enough to cause widespread havoc. (The Wikipedia article on The Little Ice Age is quite troubling: A recurrence of The Little Ice Age, essentially "doubled", would not kill off the majority of humans, assuming it did not lead to a major nuclear war, but, it certainly could lead to many millions of lives cut short.)

The solution to global cooling is very simple. If we just stop using “fossil fuels” and go “green”, transfer all of America’s wealth to 3rd world countries, and unite the world under the elites of the world in a form of authoritarian rule, the problem would be solved.
I can’t wait for all of the liberals moving south. Maybe my state will turn red again.
