Further proof of Global Warming /s
Meanwhile, Dan Mullen is the best 2018 hire.
Go Gators!
Michigan got stomped by Ohio State.
Georgia ran over Tech
And, the last I saw, 1-10 Rutgers was trying to hang with Michigan State.
A loss in the Florida vs. Florida State game frequently has an outsize effect on the losing team and program. This year it means FSU not getting a bowl game and the associated cash and perks. In other years, it might add to pressure for coaching changes or impair recruiting and alumnae fundraising. There have even been nightclub brawls in South Florida over the Christmas holiday that were touched off when rival players came into contact and trash-talked each other. In our era though of intense political animosity, a mere sports rivalry seems almost quaint.
Kind of disappointed this article wasnt posted on Speisa.
I counted 42 FBS level bowl games meaning 84 teams (The national championship is not a bowl game) get to play in a bowl game even if it is the Bemuda Bowl that no one goes to. There are now 130 schools in the FBS division so you have to be pretty bad not to get an invite.
Another reason I love Coach Mullen.
He stopped a potential fight after the game when, he stopped in the middle of his post-game on-field interview to order a Florida player not to plant a Gator flag on the FSU logo at midfield, which no doubt would have led to a brawl resulting in suspensions for Florida’s bowl game.
Mullen is all class.
Saturday night trivia question: What two states do not have a school that uses the state name as thier moniker, ie. Alabama?
Clemson!
ag school for SC
Or you mean New Jersey with Rutgers?
There are some real dogs for Conference Championship Games:
Clemson vs Pitt (who got trounced by Miami today)
Ohio State vs Northwestern
Washington vs Utah
Rutgers.I think the reason was Princeton was called College of New Jersey until the late 19th century.
The University of South Carolina who they are playing has the South Carolina moniker.
This one of the two.
ahh! I get it now.
And that game ended in a brawl.
I should have clarified, Rutgers is The State University of New Jersey, New Brunswick. Thus they don’t use a state moniker.
