By the way, the phrase "Honey Badger Don't Care!!!" is not always true.

I want to get myself an emotional support honey badger.
I’ll name him, “Carl the Cuddle Demon.”

I didn’t realize the Honey Badger is the only about the size of a house cat. I thought it was larger.

Even lions don’t like to be bitten if not necessary....

Scared?

Probably not. Some meals just aren’t worth the effort...

Those lions were inexperienced cubs. The ferocity of the honey badgers undoubtedly confused them and they were afraid to proceed. Good on the honey badgers. Maybe those were parents of a nearby litter and that may have stoked their fierce attack on the lions.

It's like a wolverine backing off a giant bear, the aggressive nature of the smaller animal confuses the much bigger one. If push became shove, the bear or lion would ultimately kill the wolverine or honey badger, respectively, but in most cases, the bigger animal just won't risk injury and will move on to easier meals.

In all-out battle, a 35-pound honey badger isn't going to survive against a 500-pound lion nor will a 60-pound wolverine survive against a 800-pound bear. Sheer ferocity and bravery will only get you so far when you are hugely over-matched.
