If Abraham lived 175 years he could have lived from 2000bce to 1825 bce. He could have lived from 2075 bce to 1900 bce. Abraham was moved with his father from UR to Haran and then Abraham moved from Haran to the “land God showed him”. So Abraham could have see some of the destruction of the Sumerian cities or was moved by God to protect him and the “great nation that was to spring from his loins thru Isaac”
The Bible in Revelation describes two big meteor impacts yet to come...as well as “wars in the heavenlies” with Satan and his angels thrown down and locked out of Heaven. Oh the crap storm that is going to fall upon the Earth will be horrific!
So Abraham could have see some of the destruction of the Sumerian cities>>>>>>>>>>>>
I agree, the damage was so horrid that large areas would have been very much like Hiroshima and Nagasaki afterwards. This kind of damage would have been visible for hundreds of years if not longer. Whole cities disappeared leaving only the imprint of their foundations.
Abaraham’s era would have been post apocalyptic.Indeed Yaweh showed the Jewish people where they needed to travel to avoid the sickness associated with these poisoned areas.
Lot chose his land from Abraham to include the area of Sodom, avoiding conflict with Abraham.
Surely there must have been signs of the former apocalypse.
My bet is that somewhere in some writings about the period something would have been mentioned about poisoned land or areas of strange growth and sickness.
