Mars on National Geographic

I had such high hopes for this series, because I am intensely interested in space exploration and the possible man landing on Mars.

Add to that, it's directed by Ron Howard, so I had every expectation of a quality production.

Instead of an intriguing documentary on what could occur with a man landing on Mars, we get a sermon on corporate exploitation of the earth and, eventually, another freaking planet!

Including fawning interviews with Greenpeace activists.

Such a disappointment.

Yes, the atmosphere of Mars is only about 95% CO2 now. Any human activity could destroy the planet via runaway greenhouse warming.

Could've been a lot more interesting and entertaining but the whole program is interspersed with odd propaganda segments to reinforce the messages in the writing.

All of the important characters in the plot are strong leading women, full diversity is emphasized and obvious and the bad guys are white guys working for corporate profit/evil companies.

Never mind that there is no possible way that anything worthwhile anyone found on Mars would be profitable by the time it was transported all the way back to Earth.

The first season was really good. But the second season throws an Eeeeevil corporation into the mix...intent on [gasp] making a profit from exploiting resources from another planet.

I may continue to watch but not if it keeps on like this.

I watched the first season last year as Delta had it as an inflight offering. I really enjoyed it and even rewatched several episodes. However, I was a little fearful of what might be coming...Excited that there was a new series but disappointed to hear the tract it is taking. Not a captive by flying much this year and I don’t know how high a priority watching the new series will be.

I know this is late as it was posted last month.

I watched Mars season 1. It was pretty left leaning, but I put up with it.

They’ve gone too far this season. It’s a global warming/ anti capitalist POS. I choked my way through 4.25 episodes then deleted it from my DVR and deleted all future recordings of this crap.

Ron Howard is truly a political moron. I’ve enjoyed some of his movies but he needs to stick to entertaining and not show his ignorance by trying to be the left’s, Joseph Goebbels.
