The preventive item for Cervical Spine and Basal Skull injuries is the HANS Device aka Head and Neck Restaint System that came to “light” with the death of Dale Earnhardt Sr at Daytona. The HANS Device already existed but wasn’t widely used until NUTSCAR made them a Mandatory Safety Device.

Yes She was very lucky that God was watching over Her. I saw somewhere that a RADAR Gun clocked the Car while airborne at 174+mph. It was amazing that only 4 others were injured in the wreck.

Open Wheel Cars get airborne with Tyre to Tyre contact very easily, the one coming from behind gets pulled up on top of the front one and you are a passenger at that point.
