“For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountain of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries.”
Robert Jastrow
C.S. Lewis is worth reading in his entirety, fiction and non-fiction alike. He saw and understood the problems of the modern world long before many others did.
.......but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
“It’s actually not very hard at all
What’s hard is making it feel hard.
You can’t understand what I’m saying”

Lewis’ “tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims” is itself a relic of a (comparably) more kindly era. The demonic twits infesting our world today are not looking to redeem anyone.
My favorite quote: “Faith, Hope and Love abide. The Greatest of these is Love’’.-St. Paul.
“Never sleep with a woman who kisses frogs in hopes of getting a prince. She’ll leave you with warts on your lips”..........”Anonymous”
