A report in the Christian Post contends that the number of witches (and Wiccans) has dramatically increased since the 1990s, to the degree that there may be at least 1.5 million witches in the United States, which is higher than the 1.4 million mainline Presbyterians.
"[T]he practice of witchcraft has grown significantly in recent decades; those who identify as witches has risen concurrently with the rise of the 'witch aesthetic,'" reported the Christian Post in October, citing data from Quartz, a Trinity College study, and the Pew Research Center.
Between 1990 and 2008, the number of Wiccans in the United States grew from 8,000 to 340,000, according to three religious surveys conducted by Trinity College in Connecticut. In addition, the Pew Research Center reported in 2014 that 0.4% of the population -- 1 to 1.5 million Americans -- "identify as Wicca or Pagan."
"It makes sense that witchcraft and the occult would rise as society becomes increasingly postmodern," author Julie Roys, formerly of Moody Radio, told the Christian Post. "The rejection of Christianity has left a void that people, as inherently spiritual beings, will seek to fill."
Roys added that witchcraft is especially attractive to Millenials because it has been "effectively repackaged."
"No longer is witchcraft and paganism satanic and demonic," said Roys. "[I]t's a 'pre-Christian tradition' that promotes 'free thought' and 'understanding of earth and nature.'"
Author and Christian radio ("My Faith Radio") host Carmen FowlerLaBerge, referencing the Quartz data, tweeted last month, "As mainline Protestantism continues its devolution, the U.S. witch population is rising astronomically. There may now be more Americans who identify as practicing witches, 1.5 mil, than there are members of mainline Presbyterianism (PCUSA) 1.4 mil."

There must be more than that. I live outside Austin and it appears half of the women I come in contact are witches so that would be about 150,000 witches in Austin alone.

Does the command & laws of God change or is it we who are the ones doing the changing in order to sidestep the order? Are we in a era of Grace where the practitioners of evils can be spared from the mandatory death sentence in order to receive salvation through Christ?

Well, they’re certainly real in the sense that there are people of the Wiccan faith, whose adherents are commonly called “witches”.
Can they cast spells with real world effects or summon “spirits”? Of course not.

That being said, I also understand that we are living under the dispensation of Grace where Salvation is now paid for by the Blood of Jesus and is freely offered to anyone who chooses to receive it.
To even further demonstrate it, the Gospels recounts an instance where some towns actually confronted Jesus and his disciples as they were about to enter there. 2 of the disciples asked Jesus "shall we call down fire from heaven upon them?" at which point Jesus chided them and told them NO and went on to teach that his mission is to save lives and not destroy!
So yeah, I understand that the death penalty seems have been rescinded as Salvation is now offered to all. However, I can tell you instances when dealing with these wicked ones who Can & Do real Harm & Death to people, in the various battles, they pay a dear penalty when the spiritual weapons that they hurl are reversed back unto them!
I've had to teach others that when a human spirit astral projects into their homes and they are detected, they are to issue a strong verbal warning to the human that unless they retreat and cease from visiting them, then they will sever their silver cord which will automatically kill them!
Alas, Restraint is always the first order even though these evil ones has no such desire towards us.

Lol, I don't deal with spells! All christians are collectively called to be soldiers in God's army and we are given an armor and weapons. The defensive weapon is The Shield of Faith and the Offensive weapons are the Word of God and Prayer. We do battle in the Heavenlies, the Earth, the Seas and the underworld to enforce the victory & rule of Christ.
A lot of people are drawn to these stuff of magic & sorcery, but they do so at grave risk to themselves, their families and descendants.
In dealing in spiritual warfare, we are dealing with Demons of all types & ranks, Fallen Angels and Evil human spirits. Not to puff up myself, but God has recently released the Revalation on how to identify & deal with them all; and since this is a public forum I'm releasing it for all to learn. It's by the Water, the Spirit and the Blood that we defeat these enemies.
We invoke the Blood & Name of Jesus against all demons and they tremble and cower at this. We use the Water against the Fallen Angels & Nephelim as that was what God used against them via the Great Flood of Noah. Lastly we use the Holy Spirit when we are facing an evil human spirit inside a person and breathe gently on them which calms & soothes them and then allows a way for use to discern just Who we are dealing with and even give them a chance to repent to salvation. The physical person whose spirit is inside the possessed may even be on the other side of the world or several light years away but it matters not as distances is irrelevant in the spiritual world.
Btw, I am not talking about hypothetical stuff here. I'm talking about stuff that we've dealt with over the years and stuff we have learned from experienced classroom settings while helping people among us getting free from these evil ones.
And as for the number being as 1.5 million, that is a joke as the real figure is more closely to 30 million or more if you add up every form of evils including the cults & false churches. That is not to say that everyone who is sincerely seeking God and ends up in a false church is a witch, but they are trapped in evil without their knowledge. I am reffering to those who definitely know that they are rejected the one true God and salvation via Jesus Christ.
In almost every major city, if you were to do a search for Psychics you will find hundreds of them and they are to be found on almost every highway in the city. I count those people as witches as well. BTW did you know that to merely enter the business place of one of these people will automatically bring curses on your life? From God's point of view, you are seeking after other gods instead of Him which brings the condemnation.

I know it may seem outrageous, but our culture would benefit greatly by returning to the boundaries established by God. We ignore God's law and suffer the consequences. Look around at the state of our culture -- the slaughter of the innocent unborn, the rampant devastation being wrought by sexual deviancy and the wholesale abandonment of truth.
Some will answer back with either that the OT Law was intended only for the Jews and/or that it is no longer operative because of the New Covenant. Paul addresses this error in Romans chapter 3. The NT epistle to the Hebrews explains which provisions of the Law have been fulfilled in Christ and consequently which we are still required to follow. See Hebrews chapter 9.
We find ourselves in the endgame of cultural demise. Romans 1:28-31 accurately describes our present milieu. I see no hope for our culture apart from God. This suggests a path for restoration. The ungodly have invaded government. They need to be deposed and their false legal strictures torn down.
