That’s a good idea about canned veggies to extend dry dog kibble. IMHO, that’s all they’re good for, LOL!

Oh, of course, I’d eat them in a pinch, and I can tolerate Creamed Corn from a can - but I REALLY dislike canned vegetables; all the flavor and vitamins are cooked out of them. And I am someone who is NOT a picky eater.

Yeah, they’re not the best BUT I usually get 2 year shelf life (or more).

Just opened a can that had a sell-by date of July, 2016. Beans, no problem at all.

1) I always make sure the can isn’t swollen
2) I always bring to a boil when cooking

Big cans of dog food (other than my dry supply) are 99 cents to $1 regularly here. So if I can buy a few extra items. they’re actually cheaper to extend the canned dog food. Cap it off and into the fridge.

And I usually mix with dry and some water. I found a 20lb bag of dry dog food for about $5.15 on a closeout. Oh yeah, I grabbed it.
