My Cranberry relish has always been cranberry’s, sugar, orange juice and orange zest.

Unfortunately, I’m the only member of my circle who really likes cranberry sauce; usually I settle for my old Granny’s canned stuff; but once in a while I make it, and damn the others ;-)

NPR's "The Salt" has a cranberry relish: Grind cranberries/onion together, combine with sugar, sour cream, horseradish, and freeze, thawing in the fridge the day of use.

They admit that it does end up the color of pepto bismol.

I make something similar but add Galiano liquer to taste. I think the original recipe came from Joy of Cooking.
